Κυκλοφορεί η Πρώτη Βιογραφία του Austin O. Spare

Austin Osman Spare
Phil Baker
Εκδ: Strange Attractor
Σελ: 272

An engaging, thought-provoking biography which charts the rise and fall and rise again of British art's darkest star. «Spare's medicine is too strong for the average man» said George Bernard Shaw, and there was always something uncanny about him. Fascinated with mysticism and spiritualism from an early age, Spare practiced a unique system of magic before retreating a life of poverty and obscurity. And as Spare the artist went underground, so the myth of Spare the magus began to grow; tales of black magic cloaked themselves around him, as he played the role of sorceror.

Το νέο αυτό συναρπαστικό βιβλίο, αναμένετε να κυκλοφορήσει στα τέλη Ιανουαρίου 2011, και αποτελεί ουσιαστικά την πρώτη βιογραφία του πατέρα της Χαοτικής Μαγείας, αν εξαιρέσουμε φυσικά τις βιογραφικές αναφορές του Kenneth Grant στα τυφώνια έργα του, και πιο συγκεκριμένα το Images and Oracles of Austin Osman Spare και το Zos Speaks!: Encounters With Austin Osman Spare.

Κατ' ακρίβεια υπάρχει ήδη βιογραφία του Σπέαρ

"Austin Osman Spare: Michelangelo in a Teacup"
by Frank Letchford

..."The first biography of the personal life of Austin Spare. Written by a long time student (1937-1956) this volume is crammed with the life and times of the magician/artist and includes the expanded text of The Magician of Southwark. After an exhaustive search there are more than 250 rare and unpublished photographs. The volume presents a new idea of the art and magic of Spare and is a comprehensive source of biographical information on Spare's life by
the F.W. Letchford."

Πάντως η νέα αυτή δουλειά από τον Baker φαίνεται αρκετά ενδιαφέρουσα.
